IAACA President Mr Danny Woo attended the 22nd Secretariat Meeting of the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC) held in Melaka, Malaysia to share IAACA’s global and regional initiatives and achievements, and called upon ASEAN-PAC members to strengthen cooperation and advance collective efforts in combating corruption across the Asia-Pacific region. 

President Woo addressed the meeting, “With the common mission of standing united against corruption, IAACA and ASEAN-PAC have grown together, learnt together, and stood together on the front line against corruption.” He expressed confidence that the powerful regional cluster built by IAACA and ASEAN-PAC would provide a robust driving force in the region to tackle corruption challenges that are increasingly cross-border, digital, complex and secretive in nature. 

Following the meeting, President Woo officiated the Regional Seminar on Integrity in Major Infrastructure Projects co-hosted by IAACA, ASEAN-PAC, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). This collaboration with ASEAN-PAC stands as a strong example of how IAACA platform can be effectively leveraged by members to advance regional cooperation and collective action against corruption. The seminar received an overwhelming response, bringing together over 100 graft fighters, law enforcers, government officials and academics from 11 ASEAN member states – Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam – as well as representatives of international organisations. 

Through IAACA, anti-corruption authorities will continue to strengthen international collaboration, foster a culture of integrity and share successful anti-corruption stories from across the region.
