Mr Angelos Binis was appointed as the Governor of the Hellenic National Transparency Authority on September 2019.

 

Before this, he worked from 2015 as a Policy Analyst at the OECD in the Public Sector Integrity Division focusing on advancing the work on internal control and audit as well as Anti-corruption and Anti-fraud. He has been involved in various projects in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the MENA region to establish, review and implement internal control and anti-fraud frameworks, internal audit policies and tools, as well as public integrity strategies and processes. He has also drafted or contributed in several OECD reports and official publications.

 

Prior to joining the OECD, Mr Binis worked in the General Accounting Office/Fiscal Audit Committee as a Financial Auditor and the Body of Auditors-Inspectors of Public Administration (Head Inspector-Auditor).

Mr Binis has a legal background from the University of Athens (LL.B) and the University of Bristol (LL.M). He has also graduated from the National School of Public Administration.

 

He holds the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) professional designation from ACFE USA, the COSO Internal Control Certificate from COSO USA, as well as the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), the Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) and the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) professional designations from the IIA Global.
