Mr. C K Cheung, the Secretary-General, virtually attended the 7th Annual General Meeting of the Association of African Anti-Corruption Authorities (AAACA) on 22 July 2025 in Algiers, Algeria.

During the meeting, Mr. Cheung presented IAACA’s ongoing initiatives to support our members in preventing and combating corruption. He also reflected on the notable progress achieved since the adoption of the Hong Kong Declaration one year ago.

Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in the global fight against corruption, the Secretary-General encouraged AAACA and anti-corruption agencies across the African region to collaborate with IAACA in pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 16.5— significantly reducing corruption and bribery by 2030.

IAACA remains committed to working alongside our partners to achieve these objectives and advance the global anti-corruption agenda.
